Creating Privacy in a Shared Environment

This year’s summit had many variables and moving parts to make it as accessible to as many professionals as possible. One of the decisions we had to make was making the sheltered sleeping arrangements (stone shelters and yurts) shared. Recognizing people have varying needs and privacy preferences we wanted to share a few ideas.

GRAB A TENT OR BRING YOUR VAN!

One definite way to ensure total privacy is to secure a tent or v space ticket. You can bring your own tent and create your own private sanctuary. There are bathrooms and showers to provide some camping comfort.

BUDDY UP!

Consider going through this training with your favorite friend and colleague! And while you may be good friends and/or colleagues, you will may want a bit more space which takes us to our next tip.

BRING YOUR OWN SLEEPING GEAR!

You can create privacy by bringing your own sleeping bag and sleeping with your heads on the opposite side of the bed. While all bedding and comfortable pillows are available in the sheltered spaces, you can create your own private coocoon with your bedding.

BRING A SLEEPING MAT AND/OR COT!

If you like the idea of being in a stone shelter but don’t like the idea of sharing a bed, there is enough room for 2 twin size sleeping mats in the stone shelters and room for 2 twin size mat in the yurts. The floors are polished concrete so be sure you have a plenty of sleeping support if you go this route.
