KRISTIN HODSON

Kristin Hodson, conference co-chair and founder of the Rocky Mountain Sex Summit, is a graduate of BYU Hawaii where she earned a BSW in International Social Work and her Master of Social Work from The University of Utah. She is an AASECT Certified Sex Therapist and AASECT Supervisor in Training.  Kristin is the Founder and Executive Director of The Healing Group, a speciality mental health clinic in Utah. She taught human sexuality in clinical practice for 5 years at the University of Utah in the College of Social Work.

Kristin is passionate about increasing the sexuality competency in mental health professionals, medical providers, and religious clergy in an effort to improve the sexual health of the community at large. 

Kristin lives with her partner in Salt Lake City and is a mother to three wild things. She loves to be on the water, be in the mountains, and plan adventures with her family.

NICOLE MIRANDA

Nicole Miranda, conference co-chair, is a graduate of the University of Utah where she earned a BA in International Studies, a BS in Economics, and a Master of Public Administration.

Ms. Miranda has 10 years of experience in event planning from weddings to seminars and conferences. Most importantly however her work has largely been in educational administration. Ms. Miranda was a Foreign Exchange Analyst for Goldman Sachs and an Admissions Counselor and Recruiter for the Office of Student Recruitment at the University of Utah. Having presented at nearly all high schools in Utah and visited all institutions for higher education in the state she continues to serve the K-16 population. As a first generation college graduate, Ms. Miranda is passionate about opportunity and empowerment through quality education for all students.

Ms. Miranda is a first-generation Chilean-American and spends a portion of her free time writing short stories about her parents’ life in exile. She enjoys researching global birth experiences, reading historical novels and most of all spending time with the two little people that inspire her most, her children. Ms. Miranda lives in downtown Salt Lake City with her husband and two children.

SHAY BURNETT

Shay Burnett is the event coordinator for the Rocky Mountain Sex Summit this year. She has worked her entire career in an administrative capacity for a number of companies, most notably for the O.C. Tanner Company, supporting one of the top performing managing directors for several years and recently as an executive assistant for four years. She has a keen eye for detail and a strong skill set managing multiple moving parts. Shay is a mom to two wonderful children. Shay is also a world traveler and has visited 27 countries so far with her adventurous partner. They will soon be calling Colorado Springs home for the next few years.

AMANDA GONZALEZ

Amanda J. Gonzalez, MSW, LCSW is serving as the inclusive representative for this year’s summit. Amanda is Co-Founder and a therapist with Empowering Relief Counseling (ERC), PLLC in Murray, Utah. As of 2022, Amanda has been working in the field of social work for over 20 years and as a therapist for 7 years. Amanda’s work foci are survivorship, post-traumatic stress, somatics, chronic pain, postpartum and perinatal mood disorders and postpartum psychosis. She also maintains ongoing training in treating those who experience marginalization and/or intersectionality. Amanda utilizes radical acceptance, mindfulness, psychodynamic theory, attachment work, and child development as primary modalities in her practice.

APRIL DAVIS

April is the event graphic designer and digital artist for the Rocky Mountain Sex Summit. A compelling speaker, creative consultant, visual artist and wordsmith, April Davis has been featured in magazines, on podcasts, and on stage, sharing her wisdom, humor and knowledge as the creator of The Vagina Blog and The Vagina Blog Podcast. Her passion and drive have created an entire community around female body health, as she empowers women and vagina owners to love themselves fully while focusing on bringing light to taboo topics that we just don't talk enough about, like sex and periods, along with self-love and positivity.

BRAXTON DUTSON

Braxton Dutson is an LCSW and certified sex therapist (CST) through AASECT and supervises therapists seeking AASECT certification. Braxton is a Clinical Director at The Healing Group in Salt Lake City Utah. Clients primarily seek him for issues pertaining to feeling “out of control” with their sexual behaviors, distress in a relationship, sexual education, and sexual dissatisfaction. He runs a free online fathers group every second Wednesday of the month called "The Man Cave." He hosts the popular sexual health podcast called “Birds and Bees Podcast,” which provides education for couples and parents about sexual health topics. He frequently presents to professionals and parents about sexual health and relationships. Braxton is the owner of Tigris Consulting providing consultation, supervision, and training to clinicians and groups seeking to improve their work with clients in sexual health.
